Material, frame and size, explained
Three papers or canvas, two frame finishes, three sizes. Everything else is already decided so the pieces always match on the wall.
What we recommend
The materials
Matte smooth, 190 g
The everyday fine-art paper: smooth, bright white, deep colour. Behind the mat and the acrylic it looks every bit as good as the cotton papers. It is the one we recommend for a first frame.
Cotton smooth, 330 g
One hundred per cent cotton, acid-free, museum grade. Thicker and softer to the touch; the print will outlive the room it hangs in. Choose it for a gift that is meant to be kept.
Cotton textured, 340 g
The same cotton with a light etching texture: you can see it in the light and feel it with a fingertip. It gives the illustration the relief of a printed picture book. Our favourite for the sets.
Canvas
Cotton canvas with a woven texture, stretched on a wooden bar. The design fills the whole canvas and continues around the edges, so it needs no frame and no glass. In 30 × 40 cm the design is trimmed slightly at the top and bottom to fill the canvas.
Printed with pigment inks in Guatemala City. On paper we never crop a design: the mat shows the whole illustration.
The frame
- Profile2 cm face, 2.5 cm deep. A gallery frame, not a bulky one.
- MatWhite, acid-free, cut so the design shows whole with an even border.
- FrontAcrylic instead of glass. Half the weight, does not shatter, safe above a crib.
- BackSealed backing, hanging hardware fitted, ready to hang.
Light wood or white?
Light wood brings warmth: it suits cream, beige, sage or mustard walls and natural wood furniture. White is cleaner: it suits white, grey, blue or pink walls and white furniture, and almost disappears on a white wall. If in doubt, choose the colour of the furniture below the frames. Whatever you pick, use the same finish for the whole wall.

Frame sizes are the standard ones sold in Guatemala, so a replacement or an extra piece always matches. Print sizes are the standard paper sizes, so nothing is cropped: the mat shows the whole illustration.
Canvas comes in the same three sizes, measured on the face of the canvas. Unframed prints come in the standard A5 (14.8 × 21 cm) and A4 (21 × 29.7 cm) sheets.
Drawn to scale, with 5 cm between frames and 25 cm above the furniture. Frames are lightweight, with acrylic instead of glass, so they can hang above a crib.
Care
- Hang away from direct sun and damp walls.
- Dust the acrylic with a dry, soft cloth. No alcohol or window cleaner.
- To hang a set: about 5 cm between frames and about 25 cm between the furniture and the frames. In a child's room, a little lower than usual so the child can see it too.
