Paper, frame and size, explained

Three papers, two frame finishes, three sizes. Everything else is already decided so the pieces always match on the wall.

The papers

Matte smooth 190 g
Smooth, bright white, deep colour. The one we recommend for a first frame.
Cotton smooth 330 g
100 % cotton, acid-free, museum grade. Softer, warmer white, lasts a lifetime.
Cotton textured 340 g
Cotton with a light etching texture you can see and feel. Our favourite for the sets.
Matte smooth, 190 g

The everyday fine-art paper: smooth, bright white, deep colour. Behind the mat and the acrylic it looks every bit as good as the cotton papers. It is the one we recommend for a first frame.

Cotton smooth, 330 g

One hundred per cent cotton, acid-free, museum grade. Thicker, softer to the touch, a warmer white; the print will outlive the room it hangs in. Choose it for a gift that is meant to be kept.

Cotton textured, 340 g

The same cotton with a light etching texture: you can see it in the light and feel it with a fingertip. It gives the illustration the relief of a printed picture book. Our favourite for the sets.

All three are printed with pigment inks on a fine-art printer in Guatemala City. We never crop a design: every print is centred on its sheet.

The frame

Light wood
Natural pale wood, matte finish. Warm next to cream, sage and mustard.
White
Matte white. Clean next to blue, pink and grey; disappears on a white wall.
  • Profile
    2 cm face, 2.5 cm deep. A gallery frame, not a bulky one.
  • Mat
    White, acid-free, cut so the design shows whole with an even border.
  • Front
    Acrylic instead of glass. Half the weight, does not shatter, safe above a crib.
  • Back
    Sealed backing, hanging hardware fitted, ready to hang.

Frame sizes are the standard ones sold in Guatemala, so a replacement or an extra piece always matches. Print sizes are the standard paper sizes, so nothing is cropped: the mat shows the whole illustration.

Drawn to scale, with 5 cm between frames and 25 cm above the furniture. Frames are lightweight, with acrylic instead of glass, so they can hang above a crib.

Care

  • Hang away from direct sun and damp walls.
  • Dust the acrylic with a dry, soft cloth. No alcohol or window cleaner.
  • Damaged on arrival? Tell us within 48 hours and we replace it.
